Its heart rate sensor is not that great though, but it remains one of the best Wear OS smartwatches out there. You can check notes on your wrist with Google Keep, scroll through texts with Messages (as long as the Messages SMS app is on your phone), review fitness data with Google Fit, and so on. From its first-generation that caught everyone’s attention, to the second which, well — didn’t — the Moto 360 has been the one Wear OS watch everyone seemed to love. As someone who previously used a Fossil Gen 5 daily, this has been the biggest adjustment. Swiping down opens the quick settings, and pressing the center side button displays your list of apps. It works, it’s faster than wireless, but this dock just isn’t good. Clearly, the new Moto 360 is a tank, and in the time I’ve spent testing it out, I’ve not exactly treated the watch with care as per the designer’s own recommendation. Mobvoi, for example, pre-loads a small suite of apps, and some of them genuinely enhance the experience with features such as automatic fitness tracking. In my eyes, the new Moto 360 is a very good product, but it also uses nostalgia to cover up for the fact that it brings less to the table.

Just like what you’d find from the likes of Fossil, it’s a sharp display that’s bright enough for outdoor use. Tizen operates in a similar manner, but with some of the gestures switched around. Hardware manufacturing partners include Asus, Broadcom, Fossil, HTC, Intel, LG, MediaTek, Imagination Technologies, Motorola, New Balance, Qualcomm, Samsung, Huawei, Skagen, Polar, TAG Heuer, Suunto, and Mobvoi. Motorola hasn’t contributed money to the development of the watch, but they were involved to some capacity with the designs.
