Coaches will fully pitch in the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 6th innings. Unlike Coach Pitch, at the Coach/Kid Pitch level, there is one ball in play and catchers must actively field the baseball and throw it back to the pitcher after each pitch. A "regulation game" is 6 innings (5½ if the home team is ahead). The home team will use the 1st base benches and is responsible for preparing the field for play prior to the game and for clean-up and storing the bases and any equipment after the game unless needed for an immediately following game. However, the official scorekeeper (home team is the official scorebook in coach‐pitch) shall notify a coach of Play with 2 outfields, borrow an outfielder from the other team. If the infield diamond is not marked or cut out, the outfield grass shall be approximately 15 feet beyond the base paths. A face guard provided by the helmet manufacturer for that helmet is legal. Baseball and Softball League Age Determination. In the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 6th innings there is no catcher and a coach should retrieve missed balls. No Stealing: Runners must stay in contact with the base until the ball is hit. If you are approaching the time limit, finish the last inning you are in.
