We both had the tempura, and it was undercooked and greasy. She was milling doing nothing around the cash register most of the  time we waited.We got tired of waiting and being ignored. , the killer Hawaiian steak, tempura, miso soup... While the menu is Japanese, the flavors are an homage to the blend of cultures only found in Hawaii. My salad, sushi, and tender teriyaki beef dish was excellent. Great flavors, give it a try! (YOU know who you are! The chicken had good flavor, but I could have liked more heat...The tempura was amazing. My wife and I both loved the food. We met a friend here for lunch yesterday who treated us to the deliciousness of Matzukaze. The beer he ordered and the boba coconut drink I ordered never show up after 30 minutes nor did our  salad or dinner.

The meal included soup, salad and tea. Thank goodness as I was following dinner to attending a Dance recital, sitting for a couple hours.

Several family members met there to have dinner together on a Friday evening. C'mon guys don't get lazy, you could do so much better.

Tempura yams with tempura parsley were fantastic, thinly sliced, not oily, though the veg tempura was pretty standard. Even better they had a section on their menu with light dinners which come with slightly smaller sides. The food is excellent.
