A portion of Operation Reach Out is designed to have City of Groveland employees, reach out to residents. Uncle Herbert Hardman played on this team, and he kept yelling ‘get him off my back’ and my grandfather Hardman who was very precise in his language asked him later why he kept saying that when there was no one ‘on his back.’ This team had a player, Dick Whittington, who claimed to be a lineal descendant of the Dick Whittington who visited the Queen in London, with his pet cat which dispersed the rats, and he became Lord Mayor of London. The City of San Francisco had long anticipated that local water supplies would be inadequate to meet the demands of their growing population. Built in 1986, the Peabody (famous for its marching ducks) was the second-tallest building in Orlando. Some efforts were made to replace the fallen flume with an inverted siphon. This is what Steve Rajtar wrote for the Groveland Mascotte Historical Trail: "The severe freezes in 1894-95 hurt the citrus industry, and this area of Lake County turned to turpentine.
